Both Granville Market of Vancouver BC and By Town Market of Ottawa ON offer the citizenry an opportunity to observe humankind as they go about their business, most often at a leisurely pace. At any given moment there are as many people (tourist) observing others, observing the surroundings, observing the numerous and varied displays of food, flowers, and speciality food of the various cultures who frequent both!!  I enjoyed observing the different culture indicated in the pic above; I asked if I could take their pic, and they agreed.  The very next human being that caught my attention was en elderly woman dancing, dancing all by herself; she appeared very happy, and this made me very happy.  I did not disrupt her; I took her pic!!  She was “movin it” without shaking it!!!   Here is a short slide show of the Vancouver, Granville Is Pix: http://photopeach.com/album/pdxb8b

Many of our readers will know that Granville Market is in Vancouver and many will know that the Bytown Market is in Ottawa. Tomorrow, April 27th, 2013 Lois and I thought it would be kind of neat to pay a return visit to the Bytown Market, and while in Ottawa, take in the Tulip Festival which takes place the first week of May annually.  In honour of their gift of freedom, the Dutch people have donated annually, 10,000 tulip bulbs to Canada for the National Capital Region, read Ottawa. We had visited the Granville Market in November of 2003 en route to the Mesa, AZ ISA.  Regular readers will of course remember the photos of Granville we shared with you at that time!! Lol  .

One thing that Bytown has, that Granville has not, is the Bragging Rights to a recent visit by President Obama!! While in Bytown Market President Obama stopped and purchased cookies inter alia!! See the several pix!! Lois and I had a “bite” there in the past > but passed on the Cookies >> but they did look pretty darn good!!

Stan & Lois. 2013 04 26  . We live about 1 hour from Ottawa.  We lived and worked in Ottawa from 1967 to 1970, and again from 1972 to 1976.   It is a Wonderful City!!
