Coldwater Shuffleboard Clubs very own” Gramma” Ruth Addison takes to the courts on a regular basis each week and just because she is 98 has had little affect on her ability to play the game of Shuffleboard.
Ruth played for several years in Florida when she and her late husband Claude would spend their winters as “Snow Birds” in the sunny south.
When Coldwater Shuffleboard Club opened its doors over 8 years ago she was one of the first members to sign up and has played regularly since then.
Ruth has such a positive outlook on life that others admire and envy.
She is always the first to congratulate her opponent for making a good shot and never misses an opportunity to praise others for their good deeds.
Ruth still has a very keen eye for making those great shots, and her strategy is to keep it simple and to score one disc at a time, never look for the big scores ” but always make a score”.
Ruth is a delight to have as a partner or as opponent, and she is a great testimonial to how shuffleboard is good for the mind as well as the body.
How many others do you know who are still playing and enjoying this game of Shuffleboard at 98.
