Sachiyo Takada began shuffling in 1993 and the same year she participated in her first ISA Event. At that time, Japanese women had a full team of 12. In Australia in 2008, the Japanese Women took the Gold Medal, the very first time, and Sachiyo was a significant factor in determining the results!!
The ISA held their 1st World Singles Event in 2009 in Betmar, Florida. Allen R. Shuffleboard began the practice of presenting a GOLDEN CUE to the 1st Place Finisher of both the Men’s and Women’s Events. Sachiyo was the proud recipient of this prestigious award. It was indeed an honour for her to be able to win the Golden Cue at the 1st world singles in Florida 2009.
At the 2nd ISA World Singles held in Dieppe, NB in 2011, Sachiyo finished in a most respectable 3rd place.
As of the most recent count, Sachiyo has won Japanese National Tournaments 17 times!!
In 2010, she was admitted into the HOF’s players division. It is Sachiyo’s dream to stay fit and enjoy shuffleboard for the rest of her life.
Shufflers; we give you Sachiyo Takada, a most experienced, a most competent, and a most enjoyable shuffler competitor.
