SALTWATER SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB – last day of 2013 season; Members Above!
Glenna Earle Speaks: Today we finished our last day of shuffling in Sackville, NS for the 2013 season. Our VP-Doug Stockman organized a tournament for this last day which was most enjoyable. We played 5 games of Mingles/Singles and had 29 people in attendance. Included is a picture of the winners, notice they are all women!!!! !st place was Sheridan Leslie, 2nd Glenna Earle 3rd Pat Stockman.
We are very pleased that our numbers are increasing and already know of a few more who intend to join us next spring.
We now have 8 courts and the last 2 weeks have had in excess of 7 courts. There will be large cheers when we actually fill all 8 courts at the same time….. hopefully next season.
We will be hosting the season-end party at our home next week to officially wind up the shuffling season.
The NS 55+ Games are to be held in Truro Sep 19, where David and I will be the tournament directors. There are at least 5 teams (team consists of 2 people) planning to attend from our club, and a few from the Pugwash club as well. We would like to have as many as possible show up so they will actually recognize us as a worthy sport. In the past there have only been 4 or 5 teams participating so we are hoping we will surprise them this year with lots of participants.
That is a little summary of this year’s shuffling in NS.
Thank you Glenna Earle for sending this summary along! It is appreciated. I encourage all other Clubs to do the same.
