John touched the lives of many individuals throughout his Shuffleboard Career not only at Clearwater and the Florida State Level but on the National and International scene as well. Everyone including myself who had the opportunity to meet Big John soon realized that he had a big Heart as well. He exemplified friendship and sportsmanship on and off the courts and no finer Diplomat for this sport has ever existed and I am sure will not for many years to come.
God speed on your journey John and make sure the courts are ready when we join you.

Pam Hill sent along these remarks: “He was a real gentleman and a devoted shuffler who always held the Clearwater club at the top of his priority list. The ISA event in 2015 was his “baby” and he will always be connected with that event.
Our families lived in the same park..he was well known to the shuffling community there, as well as to the pool folk..he spent hours each day exercising….

Dear Kathy & family,
We were so extremely sorry to hear about the loss of John. From the moment I met him, he was always friendly and welcoming every time our paths crossed, usually at the shuffleboard venues. He went out of his way to endear himself to everyone he met and we will miss him tremendously. Our sympathy and prayers are with you.
Sincerely, Glenna & David Earle

We are so glad that we got to see John a few day’s before he died…..we were with him and Kathy on Thursday night and Friday morning…..it was a real tough good bye .
John was a true friend and a great person to be around and got along with everyone he met.
The ISA in 2015 in Clearwater will be a tribute in the memory of John….he wanted the tournament there real bad.
Many people will put in that extra effort to make sure that it is a super great event in John’s memory.

I’m so sorry we won’t see him here in Hendersonville again, but here’s hoping you’ll still come. It was always fun to see what she’s you’d be wearing!! Prayers are with you, hon. Asa & Carole Lett
