Please read the title once again!! Shufflers, that was 33 years ago!! Shufflers, that was the Very First ISA Event!!
The two players we are talking about are Peggy House and Nick Klym!! Nick is on your left, 1st row of men, 2nd player in. Move to the right, same row, and you come to a “young lady”; that young lady is Peggy House!! Both will be at our Hall of Fame Banquet on 2014 08 13. Both will be ON STAGE!!
Peggy’s late husband Jack was the very first President of the Canadian National Shuffleboard Association (CNSA). (Pic on left) Click to expand. Peggy was the very 1st Secretary.
We also have a pic of Peggy taken at Coldwater, ON on the occasion of her induction into the ISA Hall of Fame.
She is shown holding her ISA Plaque, standing by Nick Klym, also a member of the ISA HOF!! Peggy was the very first recipient of the ISA Players Award. Click on pic to expand, and read plaque.
Peggy competed in 6 International events and finished two of them without losing one game!! She is the only Shuffler, man or woman, ever to achieve this significant mark of excellence.
Nick Klym was nominated for the ISA Hall of Fame by then Canadian President Roy Norman; he represented Canada sixteen (16) times at ISA Tournaments. Roy advises that no one was more willing to assist in these formative years of the ISA, describing Nick as the hard working man behind the scenes. Nick served as Team Captain for Canada and also participated in Team Selection. It should be noted that Nick was not the Canadian President and accordingly his induction is especially noteworthy.
We look forward to Peggy and Nick’s presence at our Hall of Fame Ceremonial Banquet!! What an honour to have them!!
