“On behalf of the International Shuffleboard Association (ISA), I wish to extend our appreciation to the Town of Midland, Ontario, Canada and the Canadian National Shuffleboard Association (CNSA) for hosting this the 33rd World Shuffleboard Championship. I am proud to announce that at this time we have 126 competitors from 10 Nations headed to Midland. Countless hours have been spent by many individuals and volunteer organizing committees over the past year and a half, in preparation of this event. Special recognition goes out to: MP Bruce Stanton, MPP Garfield Dunlop, Gord McKay-Mayor of Midland, Dave Bressette-North Simcoe Recreation Centre Operations Manager, Bryan Peter and Nicole Hutton- Parks and Recreation Managers, Canadian National Shuffleboard Association under the guidance of Myrna Bilton-Outgoing President, Henry Strong-Incoming President, Gary Pipher-Operations Chief, Barbara Pipher, Stan and Lois McCormack-Operations/Planning Committee Members, Financial Team of Murray Burnett-CNSA Treasurer and Wilma Rudolph-ISA Treasurer, and last but not least Lorraine Pollock our Tournament Director.
The Board of Directors and I, wish the Best of Luck to each and every competitor during this event and we highly encourage our visiting international members to take the time to enjoy the hospitality the Town of Midland has extended to us by visiting and supporting the local community throughout your stay.
