SUMMER SEASON LOOK BACK!!
It is possible that some followers will have read the articles I will post in this series. However; as most were posted when Alf Primeau and I had the Website, and as I now have 329 “friends” on Facebook which we did not have at that time, I do hope that both “new” followers and the “not so new” followers will enjoy the articles. I will avoid some of the more controversial articles. During this period, Earl Ball, Wilbur Estes, Larry Brown and Sandy Quinn were frequent writers. DO HOPE YOU ENJOY!! Stan
BAILEY, BALL SLICE AND DICE TO WIN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!
Earl Ball Writes in 2006: Jim Bailey teamed with Earl Ball to win the Holiday, Florida Shuffleboard Association State Pro Championship at Bradenton without losing a game. Both played well the first day but had to make some major comebacks from big deficits to win all three matches. In the quarterfinals it was obvious that Jim, on his way to his 5th Championship of the season, was sharp as he sliced up his opponent and fed the pieces to the birds.
Earl, on his way to his 8th Championship of the season, just had to be smart (not easy for him) and stay out of trouble (also not easy for him). The offers stared to fly as the semis started, at one point they were offered the opportunity to lag for the match with Jim and Earl allowed to keep the best of their four lags and the opponents only allowed to count their last of the four lags. They knew they were hot and turned the offer down! The finals were held on day three, again; and they were both hot and not to be denied.
