J6 Oldest T Pot J7Afterwards we visited the Norwich Castle where we saw the falcon on his nest via video camera.  We also saw the largest teapot in the world.

All of this was after a 2 hour boat ride with a great tour guide who was so knowledgeable about the history of Norwich. We concluded our day with about 16 of us meeting for dinner at the Glass House Pub.  We had a great meal and lots of good conversation.  Glenna, Muriel and Myrna will also have some great pictures to share.

Thanks so very much Joyce!!  Appreciated by readers I am sure!!  Click on pix to expand.   Here are links to Slide Shows: http://photopeach.com/album/rjcnfd      http://photopeach.com/album/lydl6r

Norwich Open Begins Tomorrow; To-day, we continue to enjoy the wonderful variety of “things to do and see”!!

Glenna Earle Speaks:  Hi Stan:  You have had a report from Joyce to tell you all about the boat ride which was wonderful. Such a peaceful morning with lots of gorgeous sunshine. We have been so lucky with weather.

G2 Norwich Castle G3 Eating area at CastleAfter the boat ride, Bob & Linda, David and I walked up from our hotel to visit Norwich Castle which was most interesting. (Castle on left; eating part on right) You saw the Peregrine’s which are nesting on the roof of the building in Joyce’s notes.  (Will be posted next)

G6 Market G7 Foods Available Mkt. G8 Prices MktFrom there we walked to the city Market where we had some lovely local foods for G9 Busy Chewing G4 Colmans Mustardlunch. Bacon Rap with world famous Colman’s mustard (made here in Norwich), for David, Bacon roll of some kind for Bob,  Linda had a chicken burger, although she looked long and hard at the mushy peas, and I had a Cornish Pastie. All of it was delicious.

G18 Notice Bleachers G20 Almost Ready G22 1 of signs in bldg. BethFrom there we walked to St Andrews Hall which is where the tournament is to be held. What a magnificent site this is going to be! The courts came in boxes (click together) and we were there to help set the whole hall together for tomorrow’s start. We will try to get pics tomorrow of all the different countries in their shirts. Took quite awhile with many people helping to get it all ready.  Click on pix to expand.  Be sure and click on Beth AND note the sign!!  Also note the bleachers in the Hall, left pic best displays.  Pic on the right is Peter (our G23 Peter shoots 1st Dischost) launching the very first disc, albeit as a test for the just installed courts!
There are to be several different media (Radio, TV, & newspaper) there tomorrow morning > 2015 04 29, Opening Day of the Norwich Open held in St Andrews Hall.

A number of us decided to go to the Cathedral for Evensong which was at 5:30PM and what a treat that was! The music was absolutely spectacular! I was so impressed with the young women and men’s voices. England has always had the BEST choirs and they set the bar for choirs everywhere.

From there  we all headed to the pub called the “Glass House” for dinner. Everyone has been talking about the great food and so we finally got in there tonight for the first time. It was indeed, very good!

Will include more pictures. Hope your readers are not getting too tired of all this “coverage” from so many of us. We are enjoying sharing it with our shuffleboard friends.   Glenna

Thank You Once Again Glenna for fine reporting.  If the number of hits is indicative of the enjoyment, all 4 of you are doing a Great Job!!  Glenna; Myrna, Muriel and Joyce.  From the Readers, OUR THANKS!!
