SUMMER SEASON LOOK BACK!!
It is possible that some followers will have read the articles I will post in this series. However; as most were posted when Alf Primeau and I had the Website, and as I now have 329 “friends” on Facebook which we did not have at that time, I do hope that both “new” followers and the “not so new” followers will enjoy the articles. I will avoid some of the more controversial articles. During this period, Earl Ball, Wilbur Estes, Larry Brown and Sandy Quinn were frequent writers. DO HOPE YOU ENJOY!! Stan
BARNES & MOULTON WIN CHAMPIONSHIP of the FINAL EVENT OF 2006 AT ZEPHYRHILLS, FL
Jim Barnes and Chuck Moulton beat a small but strong field of shufflers to win the championship AND they did it without losing a single game. They met Old Timer Art Vogel in the quarterfinals with Art needing only one more point to make the (Central District) Hall of Fame.
With the crowd behind Art, Barnes and Moulton denied him that point, winning the match in 2 straight >> wait until next time.. Missing from this tournament was Super Star Earl Ball who was in Bradenton winning his 8th State Championship this year. In the amateur tournament, Dorothy Gearsbeck and Randall Gearsbeck took first place. Jim Barnes. 2006 12 31.
