Every participant of the 2016 CNSA NATIONAL would be front and center in describing the 4 day event as “One Heck of a Success”!! Both Jim and Marlene worked on the organization. Organization is many things; many things that take a good deal of time, effort and ability! Our facility, the Cowan Park building in Woodstock was first class. Cost to rent the facility $1,238.00. Jim arranged to have the city of Woodstock make the payment!! Sponsorship money >> “Best Ever I Can Remember” > Each member of the 1st Place Team received $116.00!! Hats off to Jim and to the several generous sponsors who supported the event!!! The 12 Roll Out Courts were in fine shape, and most importantly, well maintained by Larry Allison who never ceased sweeping, beading and re-beading!! Jim helped when he was not playing but as host he was often required to perform other administrative tasks!! Big Thank You to Larry and to those who assisted him!! Pic of Larry and Denise on left.
Marlene was our Tournament Director and kept things moving with her pleasant and effective manner!! Both the Amateur Event (29 Teams) and the Open Event with 36 Teams, went off without a hitch!!
Corbeils were able to have city Mayor, Trevor Birtch, attend both Openings > the Amateur Event on May 30th and again on June 1st for the Open. He offered a warm welcome on behalf of the City and spoke eloquently about some of the Climate Change Concepts pioneered by the County and the City. Pic shows the Mayor enthusiastically SHOOTING while members give their support!!! Later, Jim shared with me that the 2017 Event is now being planned and it will be held in the same location at about the same time!!
I know!! You Want the Results!!! They are coming!! BUT you must admit, the OPENING, and Yes, the Amateur Event comes before the OPEN event. Next posting I will give you the Amateur Event Results. Stan McCormack. 2016 06 03 14:05
