Reports Submitted to the CNSA National Meeting. 2016 06 01.

IMG_0243William & Louise McElrea PQ Contact Captain alsoLouise McElrea, Provincial Contact Quebec:  For the provincial report, it will be a short one again since the people I have contacted so far are not interested in playing in tournaments.  I’m still trying to reach some contacts Muriel Burnett gave me. What I’m working on now is The Réseau FADOQ.  It is an association of 50+ years old.  The Réseau has implemented a broad range of services, programs and sporting and recreational activities.
The FADOQ Provincial Games I am currently looking into them.  Shuffleboard is included in the list of games.  These games can lead to the Canada 55+ Games and the National Senior Games.  I might be able to find interested players there.  First of all, I would like to find out places where the game is played on a regular basis. I’ll get back to you on that as soon as I get information. Looking forward to St. Cloud. Have a great summer.  Louise McElrea.

  1. Louisette Martel says:

    Hi Louise,
I still shuffling almost year round here in Quebec City. I thing that we should have an independant shuffling organization instead being represented by The FADOQ. Not that this org. is no good for the seniors but the rules are note the same, the language for most people here is a barrier (barrière) and they don’t agree with the fact that CNSA do not accept seniors 50 years old.
You cannot imagine how many shufllers are playing here in Quebec. Since 2 years i move into the city i gave my name to play more than once a week, no place long list.
I met a lot of very good shufflers here, who use to shuffle in Florida for years but due to insurance issues, getting older or money they quit.
An other reason also is that most shufflers are playing differently and by not by CNSA rules.
I still in contact with France & Gilles Demers as well as Rita & George.
Hope to hear from you soon. Sorry for the bad english.
