HAMLET — Hamlet Senior Center Director Nikki Sewell started her new job on April 13 of last year, and one of the first items on her agenda was to get the center recognized as a center of excellence by the N.C. Division of Aging and Adult Services.
Based on an on-site certification visit conducted Wednesday, that has become a reality.
“We lost our certification in the past before I came, and that was a goal whenever I was hired was to get the senior center back to a center of excellence,” said Sewell.
