The Texas Bandits, led by Captain Brian Bissillion, finished seven games ahead of the Alberta Clippers and for the second consecutive year are the overall winner of the Memorial Team Tournament held at Innisfail August 08th -12th.
This tournament was the vision of Delmar Salls and has been very popular since its commencement in 2013. The tournament is named in honor of all the past members who worked to make the Alberta Canadian Shuffleboard Association a success in Central Alberta. There were 12 teams in the tournament which is split into two divisions based on the previous year’s results.
The second division was won by The Northern Gypsies captained by Ken Wardley who had brought in two highly ranked players(Carol and Carl Howell) from Missouri to fill in his team. The Gypsies finished two points ahead of the Roadrunners team captained by Al Plante.
The event was a great success and there were about 120 players in total.
