ARE YOU READY?? LET THE GAMES BEGIN!! “Meet N Greet” in 7 Days!!

35th-flags-betterJim Allen Speaks:  Well, the Final Countdown begins for the 35th World Championships in St Cloud.  Just today the St Cloud Shuffleboard Club had a work project where 20 volunteers cleaned the club, top to bottom.  The club has prepared for this event now for 2 years and its hard to believe it is just one week from becoming a reality.

pres-tom-gionet-carlos-roof-contractor-copyTom Gionet, President of the St Cloud Shuffleboard Club reports that the task of hanging the flags of the nations is complete.  He sends this picture which is quite impressive indeed.  (Pic of flags at top.)

While some of the international players are here already, most of them arrive Saturday, October 22nd.  Sunday will be the Meet n Greet, which this year is being held at Wild Florida, a very unique wildlife park found in the Florida Everglades.

The Opening Ceremonies follow on Monday, October 24th at the St Cloud Shuffleboard Club.  This year 14 nations will be represented with 100 players testing their skills against some of the best players in the world.

The games will then take place Oct 24-28, and the Awards Banquet on Friday evening, will crown the Championship Teams.
