It’s Hunting Season; Time For a Story by Wilbur Estes, The Guy Who Wrote The Book!

WilburWilbur Estes was inter alia, a great shuffler, a great human being, and a great story teller!!  Earlier I shared with you “A Courtin by Wilbur” >  (Link below)We see Wilbur, “The Guy Who Wrote The Book”, on the left.  You will note that he is sporting  “The Shuffler.org Cap”  If you have one, hang on to it!!  Alf Primeau and I operated The Shuffler.org website for many years, and for several of those years, Wilbur was one of our prime contributors.   At this point I should tell you that Wilbur is now deceased, leaving us on October 31st, 2008.   The name of Wilbur’s most sought after Shuffleboard Book is titled “Modular Shuffleboard”. If you have a copy, hang on to it >> or you could give it to me!! lol.

The Story I am now going to share with you is “The Pat’rige Hunt”.  x2-of-2-the-patrige-hunt  And now you know in what state Wilbur lived in!! lol  In this Story, true as far as I know, Wilbur demonstrates his considerable writing skills.  The “Hunt” actually takes place on the Davis Farm, but I don’t believe it is the farm of the Family of Dick Davis, of the Davis Memorial. Having said that, it could be, as Dick too  is a ‘Mainiac”!!
