Joan Cook, Betmar, and Linda Marshman, Zephyrhills Shuffle Club, won the Winter National Doubles at Trailer Estates in Bradenton on January 24th.  Marshman who is trying to qualify for the Florida Shuffleboard Association Hall of Fame lost her partner to health concerns and was fortunate to be able to get Cook as a partner.  Cook is the only women qualified to wear a green jacket emblematic of 1000 career points.  Cook was retired from shuffleboard and living in Canada but got bored and decided to return for the winter season and that was Marshman’s good luck.  Marshman is now only 10 points from qualifying for the Hall of Fame.  They played very well in the tournament winning every game and doing it in style with no game even being close.

So proud of Linda and Joan for doing a fine job of winning the Nationals at Trailer Estates, Since I was unable to play this year, dear Joan has graciously stepped in and shown everyone that she is certainly qualified to wear the green jacket. Linda is an excellent player and together with the great expertise and experience of Joan as her partner, she is “almost there”. I could not be more happy for both of them. Congratulations gals!!!!!
