Basil Fick Leaves Us. May He Rest in Peace.

basil-fickBasil Fick left us on 2017 02 03 at the age of 88.  He passed away peacefully at Hospice Renfrew.  To read his obituary:   Thoughts and prayers of Shufflers are with Eileen and Family at this time.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABasil started playing shuffleboard in Largo, Florida in 1993. He achieved pro status in 1997 after a few years of tournament play in the FSA West Coast District and in FSA State tournaments. Basil and wife Eileen have represented Canada at 6 ISA tournaments [Goderich Ontario, Hemet California, Australia, Brazil, Clearwater Florida, and Midland Ontario]. In the summer months Basil continues an active role in both the Renfrew and Eganville clubs. Basil loves the game and most summers will travel long distances to play in the CNSA & OSA tournaments in Ontario.

  1. Basil was a kind and generous man with a heart the size of a basketball.
    He lived playing against me in all the ISA championships because he always told everyone he had a victory coming. Darn if it wasn’t true! God speed my friend.
