COOK-MARSHMAN & STRONG-BALL WIN SHUFFLE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Linda Marshman had good fortune shine on her when 1000 Point Green Jacket Master, Joan Cooks partner had to back out of the Betmar State Spring Championship held on March 6th.  Marshman’s partner also stepped aside to give Linda the best chance to chase her Hall of Fame dream.  They won the Championship and now Linda needs only one more point; they won all but one game in the Tournament.  They went three games in the semi-final but handled the rest of their matches in two straight.

Henry Strong and Earl Ball won the men’s version of the same Championship but not so easily.  They came back from a 74-24 hole in the very 1st game of the tournament.  The 2nd match featured a two hour 1st game in which both teams made it to 40 only to go back to zero.  The crowd was treated to a very exciting back and forth kitchen game by four excellent kitchen players.  The quarters went three games as Strong and Ball lost the 2nd game but won out from there.
