I mentioned in last week’s column that on March 12 at 2 a.m. you change your clocks ahead one hour as we go to spring, summer time. What I forgot to mention is that all fire alarms and CO alarms batteries should be checked and probably replaced. Let’s be on the safe side. Do it!

MacTier Figure Skating Carnival on March 3 was well attended and the skaters did not disappoint despite very cold temperatures. Congratulations on another great year. Incidentally, the club is into fundraising as they are taking orders for North Country Meats. If you wish to get into this, call Jennifer Lashbrook on 705-375-0275. Orders need to be in by March 23 and will be delivered March 28. Support the club.

Gerry Haarmeyer will be conducting a one-stop Canadian Firearm Safety Course and Hunter Education Course at Parry Sound Anglers and Hunters Clubhouse in Sequin township. MacTier Catholic Women’s League held a successful Shrove Tuesday of pancakes, sausages and other goodies recently. A good crowd was in attendance at the church hall. They thank all who attended.

The Muskoka Wild Junior Hockey Club ended regular season in first place. A total of eight teams were in the league and now it’s on to playoffs. Good Luck.
