Shuffleboard Club and dance party this weekend in Asbury Park. Is this the way of the FUTURE??

If you’re looking to take part in some old school summertime revelry, there’s really only one place to be this weekend.

Convention Hall, located at 1300 Ocean Ave. on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, is keeping the good times going with the launch of a new event series and the return of a local favorite.

Friday sees the grand opening of the Upper Deck Shuffleboard Club across four courts in the hall’s northern upper level, kicking off at 6 p.m.

Shuffleboard action then begins at noon on Saturday, June 24, and Sunday, June 25, and will open at noon seven days a week starting Fourth of July weekend.

It’s $10 per hour, per player to participate, and guests can make use of one-hour time slots. You have to be 21 or older to participate, except on Tuesday Family Nights starting July 4.

Upper Deck also offers a menu with beer, cocktails and a variety of light food options.

Convention Hall’s southern upper level slips back into its alter ego as The Overlook dance club 9 p.m. Saturday, June 24, for “Wail on the Beach!” featuring area-favorite DJs Todd-O-Phonic Todd and Sara M. bringing the rock, surf and soul action.

Admission is $5, and you have to be 21 or older to participate in this party.
