1000: Earl Ball Leaves Stan Bober Speechless!!

Stan Bober and Earl Ball

Stan Bober Speaks in response to Earl Ball Approaching the 1,000 Point Mark!!

Stan Bober Speaks:  I wish I had some wonderful words of wisdom to add to Earl’s rise to 1,000 points but Earl leaves me speechless. I’ve watched Earl a number of times, I’ve played against Earl a few times, and I’ve even refereed a few of Earl’s games at a Master’s Tournament and can say without hesitation, Earl is the best I’ve ever seen. Sure you have to have great partners to make it to 1,000 and I’ve always referred to Henry Strong as the unsung hero in Earl’s quest to greatness. Stan Williams is great and he tugged on Earl’s shirt sleeves launching him towards greatness. Still, Earl earned every point with and without great Hall of Fame partners. Earl is my hero along with many others that feel the same way. Don’t believe me, if you see a large crowd behind a court, most likely Earl is one of the players. “Bravo Earl, Bravo indeed!”

Stan Bober adds this: I feel like I’ve slighted Glen Peltier. Sadly, I never got to see Glen play during his prime years. I’ve only been involved in shuffleboard since 2010. I believe Glen is now in his 80’s and still winning tournaments! I’m very lucky to be around both Glen & Earl in my lifetime. They both are tremendous competitors, yet two of the nicest people to play against. You can even joke around with them and have fun while they’re beating your brains out!…lol    2017 08 18.
