Well the month of October is now behind us and Breast Cancer Awareness is still a necessity. This menacing disease works year round not on a daily or monthly basis, and it doesn’t care what your gender is either.
It has been a great pleasure working with Jan and Doris in accumulating donations towards the awareness.
We have ended this month with a grand total of $750 in donations, I thank all of you that were able to help with this mission. I am now heading to the nail salon for a manicure and pedicure and to remove the pink nail polish, darn I had kind of gotten use to it. It has been fun but most importantly it had been greatly received and appreciated by so many, certainly worth doing again.
I stated at the Bradenton tournament that I have been researching where these donations are to go. An organization which will put it to good work not into administrative pockets. I also realize that this is an international crisis however all donations were accepted in Florida so I am trying to keep it in Florida for that reason.
My first choice is to an organization that was established in 1993 by 3 surviving women in Miami. From all info I can get on them it would appear that very little of the donations goes towards the administrative end but more towards research and towards the problem. I will continue to research this a bit further and will have a followup when the decision has been made.
Jan and I are already in the process of assembling more awareness bows for next year with the hopes that we can surpass this years total.
Thank you to all for you help and caring.
