President Clayton, Ethelene Nash and Bill Labranche Win the Juanita Harlow Mixed Doubles

Tom Clayton, President of Avon Park, Speaks:  We had a very energetic and enthusiastic pack of Amateurs descend upon Avon Park these past two days. The competition was fierce – to say the least!

The trend was set from the very beginning, with nearly all matches taking three games to give a conclusion. The battles lasted until 8:00 pm. on Monday! (I think Cheryl, our Tournament Director, will be seeking an Overtime Clause in her contract.)

ALL of the matches on Tuesday took the identical course. Mary Temoke & Richard Lacourse tried to wear down Ethelene Nash & Bill Labranche in the Finals of the Main. Gale & Larry Harvey tried to outlast Lucinda & Bruce Shidler for 3rd and 4th in the Main.

Marsha Lojewski & Alfred Culberson stretched Nancy Foley & David Sanborn as far as they possibly could in the battle for 1st & 2nd in the Consolations.

Tired, weary and totally exhausted, Ethelene Nash and Bill Labranche accepted possession of the coveted USANSA Winners Pins.

If you weren’t there, you missed a good one! See ya’ll next year!
