DID YOU KNOW that the Games are taking place on Australia’s Gold Coast? In Coolangatta Queensland, Australia??*
DID YOU KNOW that the 2008 ISA WAS HELD IN THIS VERY SAME PART OF AUSTRALIA?? That is correct Shufflers; Ian Reiher and Marj Govett chose not only one of the most beautiful places in Australia, but one of the most beautiful places on the Continent!! Just ask any of the Shufflers who went on the Cruise on Travel Day.

In 2008 most of the International visitors were housed in the ‘Ocean Plaza Resort, a high rise complex opposite the Coral Sea ( a part of the Pacific Ocean). Between the Resort and the Ocean is the Queen Elizabeth Park. This area has been transformed into the Commonwealth Games beach volleyball arena and ifs facilities and its effect on Coolangatta is quite substantial with road closures etc. It will be interesting to see how it goes with volleyball starting April 6th, 2018 and going on for seven or eight days. Different sport activities are being held for about 30 miles up the Gold Coast from Coolangatta.
