Saturday Briefs Public meeting slated on new high school

PORT CLINTON – The TNT (Til’ Next Time) Mentoring Program is taking registrations for its popular annual “Shufflemania” tournament fundraiser at Erie Social Shuffleboard Club.
More than 60 teams of two will compete for the “Golden Biscuit” and great prizes. The cost for teams of two is $50, which includes dinner, shuffleboard and fun. A cash bar will be available, as well as a silent auction and 50/50 drawing.  (You may wish to go here:

The Til’ Next Time Mentoring Program is providing more than 200 one-on-one volunteer mentors to kids in all of the public school districts in Ottawa County.
Valley View to host talk on preventing elder abuse
FREMONT – Valley View Health Campus, a Trilogy Senior Living Community, is inviting community members to join them for an informative “Lunch & Learn” event on Friday, May 4, from noon to 1 p.m. at their campus.
In addition to being served a complimentary, made-from-scratch lunch, attendees will be treated to a presentation from attorney Phillip T. Wylkan.
A frequent speaker to professionals, civic groups, and the public on Medicaid, estate planning, veterans benefits and other elder law issues, Wylkan is also a member of the prestigious American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys.
Wylkan will be presenting valuable information, including how to ensure loved one’s life savings are preserved and that their wishes will be fulfilled.
