Our Regular Reporter Stu Cassell Speaks: 2018 07

Stu Cassell Speaks:  I am in desperate need to tune up my shuffleboard skills, which have greatly eroded since moving from Avon Park, Florida to St. Louis, Missouri 6 years ago.

I am looking for someone to “adopt me” for two or three months. I need someone who has a spare room who will let me work for them in exchange for room and board. Among the services I could provide are cooking, cleaning, laundry, lawn care, care-giving, running errands, chauffeuring, or assisting with computer issues.

I am a retired property manager/activity director, and former owner of the Lake Verona Lodge Bed & Breakfast that was located on Main St. in Avon Park. I also performed stand up comedy and wrote jokes for Rodney Dangerfield and Joan Rivers in the 80’s. I was very active in the Avon Park Chamber of Commerce from 2009 to 2012. I am currently living in St. Louis, Missouri and would return to your area at a mutually agreed upon date.

I am a very neat person, with a laid back personality. I don’t smoke, don’t really drink – maybe 1 cold beer each summer and an occasional mixed drink, that’s about it. I even put the toilet seat back down.

I am physically fit and active. My plan would be to rejoin the Avon Park and Sebring shuffleboard clubs and play with them while I reside with you. I used to belong to both clubs. I still play regularly, but my shuffleboard skills aren’t what they were when I played 4-5 times a week while living in Avon Park. This would be like baseball spring training for me, and you would get the benefit of my sparkling personality and wide varied skill set while I do this.

If you have pets, that’s great. I love both dogs and cats. I can provide local references. I still have friends in your area and for a while I worked as the property manager of Crystal Lake Club in Avon Park. I would drive down and therefore have my own car.
I am honest, dependable, and have a great sense of humor. I am also open to house sitting in exchange for free housing. My only requirement is that it be a non-smoking home, and that you have wi-fi I can use.
