Sure do miss seeing Pete and hearing his jokes all the time. Such a great guy who was sorta like Stan Williamson on the courts. Very creative shooter! And added “colour” to the scene wherever he went! Chuck was another phenomenon on the courts! Just to watch him was thrilling. Both those fine men are sadly missed!

Great article and history on these great shufflers. I met Pete in the Woodbrook Estates Park in Lakeland Fl where both lived . Pete for 12 months of the year and myself only 6 . He played a lot of shuffleboard, but not in our Park. Pete always travelled the tournament circuit and partnered and played with the best. He did however come down to our park courts and watch the game sometimes . He would sit on the bench behind the court I was playing on but would never take part. Pete became somewhat of a recluse after loosing his closest friend and only ventured out of his house to get a few groceries at the WinnDixie across the road.
