CENTRAL EAST COAST DISTRICT

Tom Plumpton, Pro, with new amateur, Monica McGrath–Main–2nd place winners
The Fort Pierce Shuffleboard Club hosted the Central East Coast District tournament on February 21, 22, 2019. This was a Draw, No Two Pros with 15 teams.
We are encouraging our amateurs and there were two women amateurs (almost novices) who placed in the Main for the first time. Monica McGrath, who plays out of Whispering Creek Co-op, drew Tom Plumpton as a partner. Monica has only played in four (4) tournaments and never placed until this tournament when she and Tom placed 2nd in the Main. Tom, a good player from Wickham Park, praised Monica’s skills and feels she will become a good player.
****Note: Picture sent of Monica with Tom.
Another amateur, Colleen Jakacky who plays out of Spanish Lakes 1, drew Gregg Myers out of the Vero Beach Club. Colleen has only played in two (2) tournaments before this week. In December she partnered with her husband, Paul and they placed 4th in Consolation. Today she and Gregg placed 4th in the Main.
****Note: Picture of Colleen sent—did not get Gregg with her
