Did You Know by Kenny Offenther

DID YOU KNOW? IN 1969 WE HAD A 24-YEAR-OLD LADY PLAY IN THE STATE MASTERS– THE YOUNGEST LADY BY FAR IN SHUFFLEBOARD HISTORY. MORE AMAZINGLY SHE IS STILL PLAYING TODAY 51 YEARS LATER, THAT LADY IS THE LEGENDARY MARY ELDREDGE.

And what a privilege to have Mary Eldridge as a Partner. Yes, Mary is a special person, kind, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to play with. When I played with Mary it was like I had a dynamite power helper on the other end. We didn’t win all the tournaments we played together, but neither one of us gave up until it was over. Thanks Mary, has been an honor! ❣️

I played my 1st “Masters” and the last “Masters” held in St Pete. I didn’t do well but the highlight was receiving my white jacket, the most recognized symbol of excellence around the World, from none other than Mary Eldrige. She didn’t know me but being a shuffleboard historian from the beginning, I knew of her. Thank you Mary Eldrige!

Mary Eldredge, an excellent shuffler & administrator, and always so kind & friendly to Stan & I, whether in Hendersonville or FL. It is a pleasure & a blessing to know her. Mary, if I spelled your name wrong in the comment about Bob & Arlene, I’m sorry!
