A Great Supporter of Shuffleboard, NOW, Needs Your Support. (by Gary Pipher)

Geordie Archer Needs Your Thoughts and Prayers.

Geordie can be seen on the left, (Welcome Sign) giving a thumbs up in the photo after erecting the new Welcome sign to the Village of Coldwater proclaiming Coldwater as the Shuffleboard Capital of Ontario.
The photo, top right, is Geordie and his wife Carol as recipients of the prestigious Polkinghorn Award given each year to the most deserving individual or pair.
The photo of Geordie on the courts (Top left) is no doubt familiar to all who ever attended a Tournament in Coldwater in the past couple of years. Geordie was so proud of his beed distribution device that spread the glass beads evenly and consistent on each court with his new device.
Geordie has been battling the dreaded disease of cancer for the past two or more years but he has shown guts and determination through his involvement in shuffleboard. He was always at the Arena to have the courts ready for others to enjoy and no doubt there were many days when he was suffering from pain but he persevered and others always came first.
Carol had been taking him to Toronto for cancer treatment but earlier this year he began treatment in Barrie.  Carol is happy with the treatment and care Geordie has been receiving.  The cancer has now spread rapidly throughout his body and he is currently under Palliative care. There two wonderful children are both home with Carol to give support in these difficult times.
I know you will all keep them in your prayers.

The OSA sends our prayers to Geordie and Carol, and their children at this stressful time. Many of us have had the pleasure to know both of these lovely shuffleboard players from Coldwater, and their support of the game. We are all thinking of you and send our blessings and prayers.

Your thoughts and prayers are so much appreciated by the family and all the shuffleboard friends of Carol and Geordie. There is a possibility of many shufflers who are not receiving these postings on the “New” shuffler so please pass this along to others .
