Hi Stan, From the Quinns in beautiful NC:

We have been ‘sheltered in place’ since early March, except for grocery shopping. Our last trip to the store was a little surprising as there was no meat at all! Stan and I are real ‘home-bodies’ so it has not been difficult to be self quarantined. Stan gets a little more stir-crazy than I, so he has been finding things to do. Spring hit early here in the French Broad River Valley w/nice weather and beautiful blooming trees, shrubs & flowers everywhere. Stan began his garden w/planting seeds in small pots & moving them from inside to outside daily. Then he turned over his garden, mixed in some of his compost and planted tomatoes, radishes, & onions. He has zucchini, peppers & cucumbers in pots to be transplanted soon. He’s been mowing 1 or 2 times a week and playing shuffleboard 1 or 2 times a week also. Our Club is still closed so he and a few others are playing at Jaymar Park. Thanks to Joe Cote’ & Joe Garcia, who refinished Jaymar’s courts; they run nicely.
Me, I’ve been fighting health problems all winter and not being able to see my Drs. or have tests run I feel pretty lousy most days. I keep up w/the housework, laundry & cooking but haven’t been able to work outside like I’d prefer. I’m getting a little tired of cooking every day, but thanks to recipes on Facebook, I’ve tried some new & different meals often. Hopefully, I can get back to my Drs. and feel better soon. Our summer friends have arrived from TX & FL and we are very anxious to see them. They are required to ‘self-quarantine’ for 14 days upon arriving here and things haven’t ‘opened up’ here so it may be a while before we can welcome them back. We are very much hoping to salvage at least half of our summer shuffle schedule and the late Aug. & Sept. State & National tournaments but only time will tell. Hendersonville was hard hit by the virus compared to surrounding cities, which may make it longer to ‘open up’. We want to thank Stan McCormack and Earl Ball for opening up ‘the shuffler’ again and posting stories from Earl, Glenn, Glen & many more! We have wonderful shuffle friends from all over the world. We think of you, pray for you and your families and so hope you are all doing well & staying well!
Until we meet again, God Bless & keep on shuffling, Sandi.
