CNSA President Jim Corbeil Expresses the Remorse of He and Wife Marlene.

CNSA President Jim Corbeil Speaks: Marlene and I want to send our deepest condolences and prayers to Gus Bondi’s wife Marie and the Bondi family.

When Marlene and I first started to play shuffleboard we went to the Winter Haven Shuffleboard Club and that is where we met Gus. He was a great help to us and we spent many Sundays learning to play with him and his good friend Jerry Stannard.
Gus was always there to give advice and encouragement.
When Gus was ill he would still come to tournaments, he never complained about how he felt he just enjoyed playing the game he loved.
Gus will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Jim Corbeil, President Canadian National Shuffleboard Association.

  2. John Houser says:

    Good morning Stan.
We too at USA NSA are reeling from the loss of our former President and friend, Gus Bondi. Our thoughts and prayers are with Marie at this time.
I met Gus only one time at the ISA World Team Championship in Seattle in 2012. His presence was as you would expect from a National Association leader. It was my first International tournament and a relative newcomer to shuffleboard, but Gus seemed to go out of his way to make Shirley and I feel welcome and apart of a great sport.
His handling of some issues arising from the tournament assured me of his management skills. Social gatherings revealed a very entertaining and humorous uplifting true Gentleman of the sport.
We thank Marie for sharing this great soul with us. RIP Gus
John W. Houser, President USA NSA
