A “Most Valuable Person”. We Begin The Series of Presentations. Fittingly, Ken Made the Very First Presentation.

As one aspect of the Celebration of 100 Years of Shuffleboard in Florida, Committee Member Ken Offenther selected a Shuffler who made a significant contribution to the sport.  The selected individual will be presented an attractive anniversary pin, an MVP (Most Valuable Person) Pin.  At the very first State Tournament of the 2012-2013 Season, held in Pt Charlotte on 2012 10 01, Ken Offenther, committee member, made the very first presentation. It was Ken who did the huge and demanding task, who did the research on every one of the 144 Individuals selected by him.  Committee member Colleen  Austin designed the MVP (see pic at top). MEN LOVE A WOMAN WHO CANNOT SAY NO. ASK THIS LADY FOR HELP AND YOU ONLY HEAR YES—-SERVING ON THE PORT CHARLOTTE BOARD, PRESIDENT OF THE OHIO SHUFFLEBOARD ASSOCIATION, EXECUTIVE POSITIONS WITH THE NATIONAL SHUFFLEBOARD ASSOCIATION ETC ETC ETC. SHE DOES IT ALL AND WITH A PASSION FOR OUR SPORT.
HOW ABOUT HER PLAYING? YOU ASK–HOW ABOUT 7 STRAIGHT FL. STATE MASTERS AND MEMBERSHIP IN THE F.S.A. HALL OF FAME. SHE HAS PLAYED IN SEVERAL INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND ALWAYS FOSTERS GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP. CURRENTLY THIS LONDON ONTARIO NATIVE, LIVING RIGHT DOWN THE STREET HERE IN PORT CHARLOTTE WITH HER HUSBAND THE ALWAYS ENTERTAINING GEORGE, IS THE 2ND V.P. OF THE F.S.A. AND IN LINE TO BE THE FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT IN FLORIDA STATE HISTORY!!!!– AND SHE WILL BE A GOOD ONE!
