BULLYING BY Harold Comeau (posted 2017 01 18) with an invite to share with members of the FSA Ex.
At a Pro Draw Doubles Central District Tournament, I watched a game that I would call nothing short of bullying. Everything was going fine until one of the players missed a shot, His Partner shook his head and grumbled loud enough for every-one to hear and complained to his opponent about his partner, again, loud enough for all to hear, through-out the rest of the match.
Is the game important enough that you need to be-little your partner who did not play as well as you expected?
We get penalized for stepping over the backline when shooting, shooting too hard, stepping off the court. Let us add bullying!!!
Without fail we hear at the invocation before each Tournament, that we are here for a “friendly” game and to enjoy each other’s company, yet this bullying continues.
We need ethics rules, since some players do not understand simple courtesy.
Doesn’t the player realize that the person at the other end of the court is his/her “Partner” and that it would be better to encourage instead of criticize him/her?
Would you please post this for me? thank you, Harold COMEAU, Sebring Rec Club
Love them both.
