Dave Kudro had this to say: Having shuffled the last few years with Mel, I not only appreciated his shuffleboard abilities, I treasured his friendship and felt of him as a brother. To note some of Mel’s achievements , even at the young age of 64 he amassed 433 life time pro points, 37 1st place finishes, State Florida Masters Champion, National Singles and Doubles Champion , Florida Red Line Singles and Doubles Champion . Florida Hall of Fame 2008. Mel capped his shuffleboard career last year battling inoperable cancer, playing in only 5 tournaments he won the non-working National Singles, and placed in all four state tournaments playing with Jerry Everett and myself. This great finish earned him a Roll of Champions Bronze medal finishing 22nd in the State.
Mel will sadly missed, but never forgotten .
