We Tell You Just A Little About Ralph Day

RALPH DAY

August 18, 1929 – February 21, 2017

Ralph was one of the finest gentlemen you’d ever meet.

Ralph Day, In Memory Of by Tom Clayton, Avon Pk. Club President.

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of our dear friend and President, Ralph Day.

Ralph is, and will forever be, one of the great stones in the foundation of our Avon Park Senior Activities Center. When we think of Ralph, we think first of the tireless effort that he devoted to our club. His work and guidance has been a major influence in making our Club into what we are able to enjoy today. Ralph’s friendly nature and selfless attitude will never be forgotten.

Wally Davis adds:

Amen. Ralph Day gave me my first shuffleboard lesson in 1999. He has always helped the club but in his last few years his tireless work grew the club like never before. He had a great gift that few have. He will be missed dearly.

Ralph left us on 2017 02 .

We will be hosting a Remembrance for Ralph on Saturday, February 25th., at 11:00am. at the APSAC Clubhouse, 109 E. Main St., Avon Park, FL 33825.

We invite and welcome all of our friends and members to attend.  If you wish, please bring a food to share.

Nearly 80 friends of Ralph came to pay their respects and filled our meeting hall. Hamp Hardy delivered the Invocation and Don Rood, Dick Davis, Max Tate, Larry Brown and Glenn Monroe reminisced about their friendships and experiences with Ralph over the years.

Ralph’s presence will be sorely missed, but his Spirit certainly lives on in Avon Park.

We will do whatever is necessary to establish this event and coordinate the details & timing with The Central District.

Generous contributions for funding this were made by those in attendance at Ralph’s Remembrance Day.

As requested by his family, in lieu of gifts, those who were unable to attend may wish to make their contributions to: Avon Park Senior Activities Center, 109 E. Main St., Avon Park, FL 33825

(Tom Clayton – Glen Monroe – Max Tate – Larry Brown – Don Rood – Dick Davis)

Thank You to Avon Park Club President Tom Clayton for organizing, AND sending the above.  Stan 2017 02 26..
